It's 2014 – the Studio Job x NLXL wallpaper collaboration wins the New York ICFF Award and the Elle Decoration International Design Award. It's on display at all 6 windows of Saks Fifth Avenue for Alexander McQueen and at Paul Smith on 5th Avenue, is featured at the Museum of Arts and Design and included in the permanent collection of Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
NLXL founder Rick Vintage: "Some flies can see as many as 250 frames per second, around four times more frames per second than people can perceive – except for Job Smeets. I call myself “a man of detail” but Job sees 10 times more than I do. When Job called me last fall to remind me of our 10-year anniversary he surprised me with a gift of a brand new wallpaper design. Since working with him is always a masterclass in attention to detail I am really looking forward to this renewed collaboration."
For this wallpaper, a new digital foil printing technique was developed by our Dutch printing partner. Following this new Job design additional “foil” wallpapers will be introduced by Bethan Gray, Dutch designers Bas Kosters, Piet Hein Eek, Piet Boon and many others.
